His Excellency was appointed as a Designated Member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 9 July 2007. In the same year, he was elected President of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

His Excellency has held numerous prominent academic, administrative, and political positions, including serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Shariah at Umm Al-Qura University, then as a Lecturer at the same university, Head of the Department of Islamic Economics, Director of the Graduate Studies Center, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Shariah for Graduate Studies, and subsequently Dean of the Faculty of Shariah.

He was also appointed Deputy President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and later President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. His Excellency is regarded as the first holder of a doctoral degree to be appointed as a permanent Imam of the Grand Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haram) in 1403 AH.

He was further appointed Speaker of the Shura Council in 1422 AH, President of the Supreme Judicial Council in 1430 AH, and Advisor at the Royal Court.

His Excellency has participated extensively in scientific conferences, seminars, and public and specialized lectures, both within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad.
