IIFA and MEDAD sign a Cooperation Agreement

H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano, Secretary General of IIFA and H.E. Dr. Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Suraihi, Director General of MEDAD (International Center for Research and Studies) signed a cooperation agreement at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the Academy on Tuesday morning, 20 Shawal 1442, corresponding to 1 June 2021.

This cooperation agreement came as part of the efforts of the Academy towards convergence and integration between the jurists of the Islamic schools and the specialists in the different fields of knowledge, and at strengthening cooperation and communication with the leading Islamic institutions, especially the institutions involved in charitable activities and the development of resources in favor of the Academy Waqf Fund. It came also in line with the most crucial objectives of MEDAD Center represented in developing charitable activities through research and data processing on scientific basis through permanent partnerships with charitable organizations and donors, including governments, institutions or individuals,

Under this agreement, both parties agreed to jointly conduct scientific and Islamic research on charity and Awqaf and to participate in charitable activities. They also agreed to organize seminars, conferences, meetings and round tables, to give lectures on topics of common interest, and to exchange organizational and administrative experiences related to the development of Waqf and financial resources through the preparation of scientific and management studies in this regard.

H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Koutoub Moustapha Sano reiterated after the signing ceremony that the Academy seeks, through the signing of similar agreements, to make the best use of the expertise and skills of charitable institutions specialized in collecting Awqaf and donations in cash and kind from countries, institutions and individuals who wish to support the Academy Waqf Fund, which is intended to become a constant resource through which the Academy’s activities and programs are financed, in addition to the annual contributions paid by Member states to the Academy’s budget.
