His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), received at his office in Jeddah His Excellency Consul Nasser bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Thursday, 19 Dhul-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to July 29, 2021.
His Excellency the Secretary General welcomed his honorable guest, thanking him for this important visit, which expresses the keenness of the United Arab Emirates and the member states to consolidate the bonds of cooperation and communication with the Academy.
His Excellency took advantage of the occasion by giving the Consul General a brief overview of the establishment of the Academy, its objectives, ambitions, and hopes attached to it by the member states. His Excellency also expressed to His Excellency the Consul, the Academy’s great thanks and great gratitude for the continuous support it has received from the United Arab Emirates since its establishment to this day, praising in this regard the United Arab Emirates’ hosting a number of annual sessions of the Academy, as well as its financing of the largest contemporary jurisprudential encyclopedia, which is “Zayed’s Encyclopedia for the Rules of Jurisprudence”, which consists of 42 volumes.
For his part, His Excellency the Consul expressed his pleasure and honor to visit the Academy and his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Secretary General for the warm welcome, stressing the readiness of the United Arab Emirates to provide all means of support and encouragement to the Academy to carry out its tasks in the best way, and to achieve its goals, programs, and projects. His Excellency also expressed the UAE’s aspiration for the upcoming visit of IIFA’s Secretary General to the United Arab Emirates in the near future.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Sarah Amjad Hussein, Director of Family Affairs at the Academy, and Mr. Mourad TLiLi, Advisor to the Secretary General for Media and Public Relations at the Academy.
