His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the 39th weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments on Monday, 30 of Dhul-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to August 9, 2021, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees and urging them to continue their valued efforts in the service of the Academy and to accomplish what is required of each department in total harmony, complementarity, and cooperation in order to carry out the duties of the Academy as required and expected from everyone in the service of the Ummah and its causes and concerns.
Then His Excellency briefed the audience on the important visit paid this morning by the Consul General of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to the headquarters of the General Secretariat, and the good and promising results it had. The Consul welcomed the idea of his country hosting one of the Academy’s sessions, and also informed the Secretary General of the Academy that the State of Côte d’Ivoire would welcome him to pay an official visit to it before the end of this year.
The meeting discussed a number of issues, and several decisions were taken, the most important of which are:
- Sending letters of thanks and appreciation to all registered scholars and experts whose research for the 25th session of the Academy has been submitted.
- Each department provides the Planning Department with an account of its accomplishments during the past year in order to prepare the annual report of the Academy.
- Develop an integrated plan about the possibility of holding specialized seminars and conferences outside the member states of the Academy.
- Submit a comprehensive report to the Secretary General on the offers submitted by specialized companies to renovate the Academy’s main hall so that it becomes capable of holding the scientific activities of the Academy, including conferences, seminars, and workshops.
