Statement on Colonial crimes in Gaza and Calling for Prosecution of War Criminals and Concrete Steps to end the Gaza Genocide immediately

Praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, the last of prophets, on his family, and all his companions.

The Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, H.E. Prof. Abdul Salam Daoud Al-Abadi, issued a statement describing what is happening in Gaza as a massive and organized genocide and ethnic cleansing against an unarmed people whose only guilt is to demand freedom and independence after being exhausted by siege and starvation under international silence, which should be ashamed of this.

In his statement, the Secretary-General outlined the following legitimate provisions:

  1. Muslim peoples and governments must fully aid the Palestinian people.
  2. Let us not forget that our cause with the aggression in Palestine is the occupation and the need to end the aggression. We must not forget these acts of aggression and massacres. The main problem with the enemy is the continued occupation of the Palestinian territories. We must enable the Palestinian people to establish an independent State on their national territory, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
  3. Called upon the Muslim governments to make efforts through international organizations and political and economic relations to put an immediate end to the aggression and the external support they are receiving and find all means to hold the aggressor accountable for the war crimes and extermination against Palestinian people.
  4. Resistance to the occupation and self-defence by all legitimate means is the indisputable right of the Palestinian people.

The Secretary-General called on the Palestinian leadership to put aside differences, unite, consolidate the sense of national unity and fulfil the agreements that were made among them, particularly in Mecca. He also called on the Muslim countries to immediately unite to confront these challenges, work to end the extermination of the unarmed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and provide urgent assistance.

The Secretary-General has called for a summit to be convened at the Arab and Islamic levels to fulfil their duty to support and take all possible measures to end this brutal aggression. He called on Imams and preachers to clarify the facts and explain Shariah provisions in their lectures to raise the awareness of the Ummah concerning its duties.

The statement concludes with the words of the Almighty: “O believers! Be enduring. Incite yourselves to endurance. Strive constantly (against the enemy) and fear Allah, that you may succeed!”
