39th Periodic Meeting of Division Heads

On Thursday, 10 Dhu al-Qa’dah 1443H corresponding to 09 June 2022G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the thirty-ninth periodic meeting of the heads of divisions, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the heads of divisions, thanking them for attending and participating, and urging them to continue work and intensify cooperation and coordination between the various departments and divisions for the success of the upcoming symposium organized by the Academy in partnership with the Food and Drug Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the issue of stunning poultry and animals and its impact on the legitimacy of slaughter.

Then His Excellency spoke about the OIC’s statute that defines the conditions and entitlements for promotion and amendment, and the incentive reward for a number of the Academy’s employees and explained to the attendees in detail what each expression means in order to remove any confusion among some employees. His Excellency also clarified the procedures and endeavors undertaken by the General Secretariat of the Academy to promote some employees, amend the status of some of them, and grant some of them incentive bonuses, as permitted by the statute of the Organization and the General Secretariat of the Academy. His Excellency indicated that a large number of the Academy’s employees benefited from these endeavors, the first of their kind in the Academy.

The meeting then discussed the items of the previous meeting’s decisions, and issued several new decisions, the most important of which are:

  • Holding a specialized symposium on Islamic charitable work and related issues such as immigration, asylum and displacement before the end of November 2022.
  • Setting the end of the month of Dhul-Qa’dah as the last date to call for papers on the themes of the specialized symposium entitled “The Family Foundation… Challenges and Prospects.”
  • Completing the review of the issues of the Academy’s scientific journal and handing it over to the publishing house in order to arrange it and determine the cost before the final printing.
  • Inviting all employees of the Academy to participate in the stunning poultry symposium for the purpose of supporting the various committees working for the success of the symposium.
