The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) held its 84th weekly meeting for the directors of departments on Wednesday 21 Dhu al-Hijjah 1443H corresponding to 20 July 2022G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, who started it by welcoming the attendees and thanking them for their commitment to attend and participate, and then spoke about the importance of reviewing the contents of the annual strategic plan, in order to ensure the implementation of its activities and programs according to the specified deadlines. To achieve this, His Excellency instructed the Planning Department to prepare a semi-annual report on the strategic plan, based on the reports submitted to it by the departments and compare them with the performance indicators in the plan, and the activities that the Academy decided to hold in the first half of 2022G, indicating that the evaluation of the departments’ performance depends on what has been implemented of the activities and programs of the strategic plan entrusted to each department. His Excellency also spoke about organizing a specialized scientific symposium on Wills and the need to start preparing and working on it in partnership with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai.
Then the meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:
- Arranging for a meeting of the Board of Trustees to consider new issues regarding the Waqf Fund.
- Providing information about the collection of donations and all inquiries from the General Authority of Waqf regarding the donors to the Academy from inside and outside KSA.
- Inviting the institutions with which a memorandum of cooperation was recently signed by the Planning & International Cooperation Department to participate with research papers and to nominate researchers to participate in the next Academy’s Session.
