88th Weekly Meeting of Department Directors

His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the 88th weekly meeting of directors of departments on Monday 09 Safar 1444H corresponding to 05 September 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and thanked them for participating in the meeting, then touched on the topic of his participation in the great and historic occasion of the washing ceremony of the Holy Kaaba, where His Excellency was honored to be chosen by the Royal Court of the headquarters country through the intermediary of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be among the participants. His Excellency expressed his great thanks and deep gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, may God protect them both, for this tremendous honor wishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia security, stability and prosperity.

His Excellency also mentioned the news of the issuance of the royal approval to hold the Academy’s twenty-fifth Session in the city of Jeddah, KSA, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region. On this happy occasion, His Excellency extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the headquarters country, praising the great efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Ministry’s branch in the Makkah region. His Excellency asked all departments to intensify efforts, coordination and work towards the success of this Session.

Then the meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

  • Calling for the convening of the Board of Trustees meeting of the Academy’s Waqf Fund during the second week of September.
  • Approaching the Saudi delegation to the OIC to mediate with the relevant authorities in order to obtain the official permission from the headquarters country to accept and collect donations for the Academy’s Waqf Fund.
  • Arranging a visit to King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action to discuss ways of cooperation in the field of fundraising for the Academy’s Fund.
  • Communicate with a number of hotels in Jeddah in order to finally determine the venue for the Session.
