41st Periodic Meeting of Division Heads

On Thursday 12 Safar 1444H corresponding to 08 September 2022G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the forty-first periodic meeting of the heads of divisions, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their participation, and recalling the importance of continuing to exert effort and to continue working and diligence in order to achieve the goals and programs of the Academy. Then he touched upon the subject of his participation in the great occasion that God has bestowed upon him, the occasion of washing the Holy Kaaba, where he was among those chosen by the Saudi Royal Court to participate in this blessed annual occasion. On this occasion, His Excellency expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leadership and people of the headquarters country for the support and care the Academy has received since its establishment to this day.

His Excellency also mentioned his recent visit to Malaysia and the cooperation agreements the Academy signed with a number of academic and research bodies, in addition to personally honoring him by delivering the Friday sermon at the International Islamic University in Malaysia in front of thousands of professors, students and visitors. Then His Excellency informed the attendees of the approval of the headquarters country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to hold the twenty-fifth session of the Academy before the end of the current year. In this context, he called on everyone to exert maximum efforts, coordination and full cooperation in order to properly organize and manage this important event and achieve the desired goals.

The meeting then discussed the provisions of the previous meeting’s decisions, and issued several new decisions, the most important of which are:

  • Setting a final date for the call for papers on the themes of the specialized symposium entitled: “The Family Foundation: Challenges and Prospects”.
  • The scientific committee to finish working on reviewing the research of the next Academy’s Session (the 25th session) by the end of this September.
  • Follow-up with Mufakirun Printing House to print 200 copies of the Book of Resolutions in Arabic, fourth edition (modified version) to be distributed and gifted to participants and guests in the 25th Session of the Academy.
  • Planning ahead for a number of upcoming sessions and starting from now approaching the targeted host countries.
