The President of the University of Bahrain welcomes IIFA Secretary General at the University Headquarters in Manama

On the sidelines of his participation in the Bahrain International Forum for Dialogue, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), and his accompanying delegation visited the University of Bahrain in Sakhir, on Saturday 11 Rabi’ al-Thani 1444H corresponding to 05 November 2022G. He and the accompanying delegation were received by Her Excellency Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Madahka, President of the University, accompanied by her deputies.

The President of the University expressed her thanks and gratitude to His Excellency and the accompanying delegation for allocating part of their time to visit the university in order to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and partnership relations between the two sides in a number of aspects of common interest. Dr. Al-Madhahka emphasized the role of the national University in spreading and promoting Islamic culture, and ensuring that its curricula include the values ​​of tolerance and the creation of an atmosphere of open dialogue, as it is an essential foundation in the formation of the culture of individuals and the identity of society and their ability to understand the various cultures and religions in the whole world, in addition to strengthening ties of cooperation with industry and business sectors, and their interest in excellence and innovation, encouraging scientific research, and adopting initiatives and projects in line with sustainable development plans. Her Excellency the President of the University concluded by expressing her aspiration to develop scientific and intellectual cooperation relations with the Academy and to benefit mutually from the scientific and academic experiences that the two sides abound in.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his great happiness with this visit and his gratitude and thanks to the President of the University for the good reception and warm welcome, praising the tangible achievements and rapid developments he witnessed during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom and its honorable people prosperity and security under its wise leadership. His Excellency also expressed his pleasure at the high scientific level reached by this prestigious university and the scientific results and achievements it has achieved since its establishment at the level of scientific research. He pointed out the aspiration of the Academy to conclude a strategic partnership with the university that would enable it to recruit researchers from the various colleges and institutes of the university to participate in the Academy’s sessions, seminars and conferences, in order to study the problems of contemporary life in depth. His Excellency also indicated that the university, with its advanced research capabilities in various disciplines, can effectively contribute through experts, researchers and faculty members in various medical, scientific, social, financial and economic issues that fall within the interests of the Academy.

The meeting was attended from the University side by the Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jodar, the Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Muhammad Reda Qader, the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdul Aziz Muhammad Bulila, and the Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, Dr. Dia Abdullah Al Kaabi. The meeting was also attended from the side of the Academy by Ms. Sarah bint Amjad Hussein, Director of Family Affairs Department, and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Mustafa, Head of the Protocol Division.
