Secretary General welcomes Executive Director of Islamic Development Bank in Guinea

H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, welcomed H.E. Mr Mohamed Koroma, Executive Director of the Islamic Development Bank in the Republic of Guinea, and his two deputies, Mr Sada Modu Kaba and Mr Hassan Bah, on Saturday morning 23 Shawal 1444, corresponding to 13 May 2023, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.

H.E. Mr. Mohamad Koroma expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Secretary General for giving him and his delegation the opportunity to meet with him despite his heavy schedule, and commended the developments and changes witnessed by the Secretariat General of the Academy since assuming office as Secretary General of the Academy. He also expressed the great appreciation of the ISDB Executive Board, for the esteemed efforts of His Excellency in promoting the Waqf of the Islamic Development Bank in Guinea, in his capacity as Chairman of the Standing Committee of this Waqf Fund, and member of its Board of Directors, and concluded his speech by hoping for more support and backing for all the projects that the Waqf intends to execute, praying Allah the Almighty to bless His Excellency and his family.

For his part, the Secretary General welcomed his honourable guest and the accompanying delegation and thanked them for visiting the Academy’s headquarters for the first time, praising their considerable efforts to improve the Waqf of the Islamic Development Bank in Guinea, and stressing his full readiness to provide them with all the support, attention and guidance they need, because of his conviction of the importance of the success of this endowment project in the Republic of Guinea, which will have a significant impact on raising awareness of the importance of endowment and its social, economic and developmental role in Africa in general, and in West Africa in particular, as there is a great weakness in the area of Waqf awareness among Muslims in this region. In the world. His Excellency concluded his speech by stressing the need to move forward by supporting all the projects and initiatives undertaken by the Waqf’s executive management, and then presented his guest and companion with a the book of the Academy’s resolutions and recommendations and some publications of the Academy.

He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
