107th Weekly Meeting of Departments

H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, chaired the 107th weekly meeting of the departments’ directors, on Wednesday, 6 Rabi’ al-Awal 1445, corresponding to 20 September 2023, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah. His Excellency welcomed the audience, then spoke about the importance of constructive criticism of historical events related to the conflicts that arose between Muslims , calling for the importance of vigilance and not accepting the news and biographies that are narrated until after investigating them deeply and ensuring their authenticity and accuracy. His Excellency also talked about some of the outcomes of the visit of the Ummah’s scholars to Afghanistan between August 31 to September 5, 2023, pointing to the positive response that was sensed from the authorities there by opening religious schools at all levels for boys and girls, noting that this is a step in the right direction, and praise be to Allah.

The meeting discussed the decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, notably:

  • Sending all issues of IIFA Journal that the committee has already reviewed from 21st issue onwards to Al-Mufakiroon Printing and Publishing Company to typeset them and prepare them for printing with the same previous specifications and formats.
  • Preparing a concept paper for a scientific symposium on: Hajj calamities and developments, in order to study some important calamities that did not exist in past eras, and to invite senior scholars and muftis from countries of the Muslim world to participate in it.
  • Emptying the Academy’s warehouse located on Quraish Street in Jeddah as soon as possible.
  • Searching for financing organization to help design an application that may contain the digital version of the Academy’s publications, sessions, and magazines, in addition to communicating with Jarir Bookstore to agree with it on marketing the publications of the Academy in paper and digital forms.
