His Eminence Dr. Kahlan Al Kharousi

His Eminence Dr. Kahlan bin Nabhan bin Abdulrahman Al Kharusi was born in the Sultanate of Oman in 1972. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sharia Judiciary from the Institute of Sharia Judiciary, Preaching and Guidance in Muscat in 1995. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in 1999, and a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from the same university in 2003.

His Eminence was appointed as a Member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), representing the Sultanate of Oman in 2021.

His Eminence has held numerous prominent positions, including:

Researcher at the Office of Fatwa Affairs of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
Shariah Adviser at the Office of the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.
Assistant to the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate.
Chairman of the Higher Shariah Supervisory Authority for Islamic Banks in Oman.
Chairman of the Committee for the Review, Verification, Publication, and Printing of Manuscripts.
Chairman of the Shariah Committee for Endowment Institutions.
Vice Chairman of the National Bioethics Committee.
Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College of Sharia Sciences.
Member of the Shariah Board of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).

He has also participated in numerous conferences and seminars both within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
