Born in 1939 in Egypt, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Ragai El-Gendy obtained a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Alexandria University in 1960, a master’s degree in 1967 and a doctorate 1970 from Cairo University. His Eminence held a number of key positions, including Researcher and Head of the Pharmaceutical Research Department at the Drug Research and Control Center in Cairo, Head of the Research Sector at the Syed Pharmaceutical Company in Cairo, Head of the Islamic Medicine Center, Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences, Member of its Executive Committee and Board of Directors, supervisor of the establishment of the Islamic Medicine Center, for the activities of the Islamic Organization of Medical Sciences and chief editor of all the organization’s activities in terms of publications, conferences, seminars and meetings, and member of the MWL’s Islamic Fiqh Council, and member of the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences His Eminence participated in numerous international scientific conferences in various fields of medical and Islamic studies in different parts of the world. His Eminence is the author of several books on the medical and Islamic topics. His Eminence was an appointed member to the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
