Statement by IIFA on laying the cornerstone for the largest extension of the Holy Mosque of Makkah (al-Masjid al-Haram), under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for the benefit of pilgrims and visitors

Praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, the last of prophets, on his family, and all his companions.

 

Allah The Almighty, says: «The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.» At-Tawba -18

On the occasion of the laying of the cornerstone by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for the biggest project of extension of the Sacred Mosque, using the most sophisticated systems and techniques, the Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy would like to express his sincere thanks and appreciation to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He also invokes Allah to reward him with the best rewards, to include this deed in his balance of good deeds and to bless his great and tireless efforts in the service of the two Holy Mosques and the guests of the Merciful who come from all over the world.

During his reign, the Two Holy Mosques witnessed great achievements which constitute a record in terms of time, namely the extension of Mass’a, which facilitates the pilgrims to perform this rite, the improvement of the project of quenching the thirst by the water of Zamzam, which makes this blessed water available through a sophisticated system, the development of the Sacred Sites and their services as well as the building of the Jamarat bridge.

These good deeds of the Custodian of the Two Holy Places, may Allah support him, reflect his willingness to serve Islam, his unwavering support for the issues of the Ummah in the hope of unifying its voice and raising its rank, and his contribution to the propagation of mortal values, will remain inscribed, Allah willing, in the pages of his biography and will serve as an example for others.

Furthermore, the International Islamic Fiqh Academy would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation for the great and tireless efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to develop the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, making it the reference for the entire Muslim Ummah in the field of Fiqh (jurisprudence) and to enhance its capabilities and lead it to achieve the objectives, for which it was created and built.

Finally, the International Islamic Fiqh Academy takes this opportunity to express his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to his faithful Crown Prince, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,, and to his second deputy, Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect and support them, and to all the Saudi people and the entire Muslim Ummah on this occasion of the last ten days of Ramadan and the approach of the blessed days of Eid Al Fitr, praying to Allah the Almighty that these moments will return to the entire Ummah with more good and blessing and prosperity.
