16th Monthly General Meeting of IIFA’s Employees

On Monday, 6 Rajab 1443H corresponding to 07 February 2022D, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the sixteenth monthly periodic meeting of the Academy’s employees virtually via zoom technology from his residence in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott.

His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the staff, thanking them for their regular attendance at the periodic meetings because of their great importance to the functioning of the Academy and the good management of its work and projects, as well as being a means through which all employees are given the opportunity to present their observations and suggestions and express any opinion that would contribute to improving work environment and output quality. His Excellency then touched on the reason for his visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, where he will participate in the Second African Conference on Promoting Peace in Societies, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace over three days from 8-10 February. On the sidelines of the visit, His Excellency will hold a series of high-level meetings, starting with the meeting with His Excellency the Prime Minister, Head of the Mauritanian government, His Excellency the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency the Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education. With the latter, he will sign a partnership and cooperation agreement between the Ministry and the Academy.

As is customary in such meetings, His Excellency opened the floor for all employees to express their opinions and observations about the work progress at the Academy, in addition to receiving their suggestions that could contribute to the advancement of the Academy and improve the performance of employees. His Excellency listened with interest and focus to the remarks, suggestions, and inquiries of a number of employees, calling on everyone to continue to show a spirit of cooperation, synergy and fraternity while making maximum efforts to achieve optimally the activities and programs of the Academy.

The meeting took several decisions, the most important of which are:

  • Instructing the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department to provide all departments with paper shredders to facilitate their work and to ensure the confidentiality of the Academy’s documents.
  • Expedite the payment of the financial dues to the French reviewer and the Malaysian designer who worked on the French version of the book of resolutions.
  • Starting to compile the scientific material necessary to produce the book Scholars of the Academy.
  • Communicating with Mr. Ashraf in order to obtain a soft copy of the encyclopedia of jurisprudence and fundamental principles in preparation for re-printing it.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. He praised the distinguished intellectual efforts undertaken by the Academy under His Excellency’s leadership in addressing numerous religious and intellectual issues of concern to the Islamic world, affirming his personal honor in meeting His Excellency again and Jordan’s keenness to strengthen channels of communication and cooperation with the Academy, especially in areas of mutual interest. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
