Proceeding from the keenness of the General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) to follow up on the work of its departments and to know what activities and programs have been accomplished, and to put all new issues on the meeting table for discussion and to take proper decisions, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the seventieth weekly meeting of the directors of the departments, on Monday, the 11th of Sha’ban 1443H corresponding to 14 March 2022G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the directors and thanked them for their attendance and participation, then His Excellency expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy on the death of the sister of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, expressing sincere condolences and sincere sympathy on the death of Her Highness Royal Princess Noura bint Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on her -, asking the Almighty to bless the deceased with the vastness of his mercy and satisfaction and dwell her in his vast gardens, and to inspire the honorable royal family beautiful patience and condolences.
Then His Excellency talked about the visit of a delegation from the Academy to Afghanistan, which is scheduled in the coming days with a group of scholars to discuss a number of issues related to the interests of the Academy and its Shariah directives. His Excellency also spoke about his scheduled visit to Pakistan, during which he will meet with a number of officials with the aim of strengthening relations and concluding joint cooperation agreements between the Academy and the relevant authorities.
The meeting then discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several decisions were issued, the most important of which are:
- Preparing letters regarding the support of the Academy’s Waqf fund from the heads and trustees of the Shariah boards of Islamic banks inside and outside the Kingdom.
- Sending a telegram of condolences to His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, on the death of his sister, and to His Highness Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al Saud, Secretary General of the King Faisal Charitable Foundation on the death of his mother – may God have mercy on her and dwell her in his vast gardens.
- Preparing a detailed report on the content of the data and recommendations of the scientific forums that were held last year in order to ascertain what was implemented of those recommendations.
- Starting to reprint the “Fiqh Rules Encyclopedia” according to a new design with a publishing house.
