On the sidelines of his participation in the conference of the Saudi Foreign Ministry and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on “Mediation: Experiences and Prospects”, His Excellency Mr. Nasiru Baku Arivary visited the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) on Monday 7 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1443H corresponding to 06 June 2022G. He was received upon his arrival by Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, who thanked him for his visit and congratulated him on his appointment as a Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the OIC to Africa, stressing on this occasion the full readiness of the Academy to provide all the support needed by His Excellency for the success of his mission , especially with regard to the intellectual contribution to promoting awareness of the importance of moderation and spreading the culture of moderation, tolerance, coexistence and harmony among followers of religions in Africa. His Excellency also took the opportunity to give a brief introductory overview of the Academy’s vision, mission, goals, programs and activities, looking forward to close cooperation and solid coordination with His Excellency on all issues and questions related to intellectual security, and putting an end to the states of war and turmoil experienced by some countries on the continent.

For his part, His Excellency the Special Envoy expressed his great happiness with this visit, praising the distinguished intellectual efforts made by the Academy in the field of combating extremist ideology, terrorism, fanaticism and extremism, and praising the qualitative developments witnessed by the Academy’s General Secretariat since the appointment of Prof. Sano as Secretary General, which is a proof of his competence, management expertise, and vast experience. He concluded by saying: “I thank your excellency for the warm welcome, and I hope that this old Islamic scientific edifice flourishes to continue fighting ignorance and correcting misconceptions of the foundations and teachings of Islam in the hope that it will further awaken the world and radiate light everywhere.”
