The Secretariat General of the Academy held its eighty-sixth weekly meeting of departments’ directors, headed by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano, on Monday 03 Muharam 1444, corresponding to 01 August 2022, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency greeted the participants, thanked them for their regular participation, spoke of the latest preparations for the twenty-fifth session of the Academy. He also discussed with them a number of topics and issues related concerning the session, especially with regard to research. His Excellency requested the Scientific Committee to ensure that the research papers are carefully examined and comply with the topics and standards outlined in the call letters.
His Excellency highlighted the Bureau meeting, held on Thursday 28 July, 2022, under the chairmanship of the OIC’s Secretary General, Chairman of the Bureau, who expressed his thanks over the Bureau’s efforts, and praised the Academy as an intellectual and scientific reference that works and watches for unification. The OIC Secretary General also commended the visit of the Ummah’s scholars, led by IIFA, to Afghanistan in order to dialogue and converge the views of the ruling authority with the opinions of the Muslim world’s religious references as well as the international public opinion. This visit is considered a great success that will be recorded in the history of the Academy for many decades or centuries to come and will strengthen its role and place in solving major outstanding problems of Muslim societies.
The meeting also discussed decisions from the previous meeting, and issued new ones, notably:
- Preparing a letter of thanks to the OIC Secretary General for chairing and moderating the Bureau meeting and sending him the meeting report to benefit from his comments and suggestions.
- Sending a letter to the researchers requesting them to speed up submitting their research to be printed after its approval.
- Setting a date for a Bureau meeting next September to discuss new issues regarding the Waqf Fund.
- Launching a gift committee specializing in the preparation of gifts and publications of the Academy, headed by Ms. Ola Asiri, and consisting of: Mr. Khaled Jarbin, Mr. Amjad Al-Mansi, Mr. Saad Al-Samar, Mr. Ahmed Jazouli, and Mr. Abdulaziz Arzak.
- Preparing a letter to the OIC Secretariat General regarding the payment of financial arrears to the least developed Member states based on the last Bureau meeting’s conclusions.
