Guinea’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation visits the Secretariat of General of the Academy

H.E. Mr. Mr Ismail Nabi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of the Republic of Guinea, and his accompanying delegation visited the Academy’s headquarters on Friday 17 Rajab 1446, corresponding to 17 January 2025, and was received by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy.

The Secretary General welcomed his guest and his accompanying delegation and praised the outstanding and continuous support of the Government and people of the Republic of Guinea to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its organs, especially the International Islamic Fiqh Academy. His Excellency also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister for this visit, which confirms the depth of cooperation and partnership between the Academy and various scientific and religious institutions and centers in the Republic of Guinea, stressing the Academy’s keenness to support Guinea’s development and progress under the leadership of General Mamadou Doumbia, President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, especially in promoting moderation and spreading tolerance and understanding among the various components of the Guinean people.

For his part, the Guinean Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Secretary General of the Academy for the warm welcome and praised the Academy’s pioneering role in serving the interests of the Ummah, spreading the values of moderation and promoting cooperation, tolerance and dialogue among the followers of religions. His Excellency also expressed his deep gratitude for cooperation and partnership between the Republic of Guinea and the OIC and its organs, especially the Secretariat General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, which is headed by a prominent son of Guinea who left a clear mark in the ministries he held before his appointment as Secretary General, including the Ministry of International Cooperation, which he has the honor of assuming today after its merger with the Ministry of Planning.

Additionally, both parties discussed the possibility of launching joint initiatives and programs to serve Guinea’s development needs, particularly in areas of human development and capacity building. Following the meeting, the Minister toured the Academy’s headquarters, while being briefed on its main activities, projects, scientific and research initiatives, and expressed his great admiration for the high level that the Academy has recently reached in the field of providing solid legal visions that address the issues of the day and keep pace with global changes.
